4th August 1693: Dom Pérignon supposedly invents champagne. Historypod on Aug 3, 2015 On the 4th August 1693, legend says that French Benedictine monk Dom Pérignon invented champagne. Apparently he shouted, “Come quickly, I am drinking the stars,” and began the world’s love for sparkling wine. Unfortunately both of these claims are untrue. Firstly, there is no evidence that Pérignon ever claimed to be drinking the stars, and the earliest reference to the phrase is in a champagne advertisement from the 1880s – nearly 200 years later. Secondly – and most importantly – Dom Pérignon did not invent champagne. In fact he dedicated much of his time as cellar master at the Benedictine abbey in Hautvillers to researching how to avoid making sparkling wine. Sparkling wine was a problem for Dom Pérignon because the build-up of carbon dioxide from a secondary fermentation inside the bottle could cause it to explode without warning. In a cellar, the proximity of the exploding bottle to other bottles …More
Priest Alters Words of Consecration, Nuns Appear as "Concelebrants". Worse than Germany: A video published by InfoVaticana.com shows Trinitarian nuns at the Monastery of Suesa in Cantabria, Spain, standing around the altar like concelebrants, with their hands extended during the Eucharistic Prayer. The celebrating priest altered the words of consecration, using feminine forms. He said, “Tomad y comed todas de él” (“Take and eat, all of you” — using the feminine todas). Furthermore, he prayed “for all humanity” instead of “for many.” He also replaced “Do this in memory of me” with: “Do this to remember that I am among you as one who serves.”

"The foolishness of man. For nothing is more foolish than to live in idleness in the present life, where a man ought to work for himself so that he may live in eternity. He found them idle in the market place. (Matt. 20:3) This market place is the present life. The market placee, or forum, is called the place in which lawsuits are conducted and in which buying and selling take place; and it signifies the present life, which is full of disputes, of buying and selling, and in which even the benefits of grace, progress, and heavenly glory are sold in exchange for good works. And those men were idle because they had already lost part of their life. And they are called idle not only those who do evil, but also those who do not do good. And just as the idle do not attain their end, neither do these. The end of man is eternal life. Therefore, he who works in the way he ought will obtain it, provided he is not idle." — St. Thomas Aquinas, Serm. in Dom. Septuages. St. Thomas Aquinas (@aquinaswisdom)

Paul Vaughn: Pro-Life Activism and Conversion to … As his family grew to 11 children, Paul Vaughn gradually got used to people assuming that he and his wife, Bethany, were Catholic. They are now. During this year’s Easter Vigil, this 59-year-old pro-life activist from Centerville, Tennessee, Bethany Vaughn, and four of her children transitioned from evangelical Protestant Christianity to full communion with the Catholic Church at St. Catherine of Siena Parish in the nearby city of Columbia. Paul Vaughn explained to OSV News that, like so many others, his journey to the fullness of the Catholic faith has been a winding path of faith, during which he had previously held leadership roles in a Reformed Baptist congregation and in an independent Presbyterian congregation that he himself had helped found.
Further evidences as to the irregular CONCLAVE 2025 [illegal / rule break] as to the status of Robert Prevost as Pope Leo XIV Canon 332 §1 declares Pope Leo XIV an anti-pope We are living in a very peculiar age in the history of the Catholic Church. As readers of FromRome.Info, from February 11, 2013 until December 31, 2022, the Catholic Church was caught up in a program of mass confusion which broke out over the terms of Canon 332 §2, which reads as follows: Canon 332 § 2. — Si contingat ut Romanus Pontifex muneri suo renuntiet, ad validitatem requiritur ut renuntiatio libere fiat et rite manifestatur, non vero ut a quopiam acceptatur. Which in English is: Canon 332 § 2. — If it happen that the Roman Pontiff renounce his munus, for validity there is required that the renunciation be made freely and be manifested duly (rite), but not that it be accepted by anyone at all. Here “rite” means in accord with due procedure: “rite” being the Latin word for “according to the ritual”. This …More
As Pentin wrote, Francis’s hostile occupation of the papacy was like torture for many serious Catholics. Unfortunately, this torture has continued with Leo XIV, even if the man in white looks somewhat more pious when operating the “waterboard.”

Today, Leo XIV accepted the resignation of Bishop Karl-Heinz Wiesemann, 66, of Speyer, Germany, due to health reasons. He had led the Diocese of Speyer since March 2008. Bishop Wiesemann said that "the burden of the extensive responsibility has taken a serious physical and psychological toll on me." Depression and Health Bishop Wiesemann had previously suffered from depression. In 2021, he withdrew from his duties for about seven months for health reasons, including inpatient treatment. He later publicly identified the illness as depression. In May 2026, he spoke about his experience at the Katholikentag in Würzburg during an event on depression and mental health. He attributed his depression to prolonged pressures including the demands of episcopal office, financial and structural problems in the diocese and, above all, the Catholic Church's sexual abuse crisis. Pro-Homosexual Bishop Bishop Wiesemann was among the German bishops supporting changes in the Church's approach to homosexuality …More
'Don't you want to become a canon at St. Peter's?'" Kröger is still stunned. "I never would have dreamed of working as a priest in St. Peter's Basilica!" For a moment, he even thought Gambetti was joking... Spiritual Conversations at the Blessing Booth Here, people can order Masses and have rosaries or Bibles blessed. "Most of the time, though, it's just a way for them to receive a blessing themselves. That's a great pastoral task because, in a very brief moment, they begin a conversation that I pick up on, and then I give them a personal blessing, ideally in their own language." This transcends denominations and religions: "I've even had Hindus and a Jewish family come to me wanting a blessing." "Of course," I say, "we humans all need God's blessing." If the lines in front of the kiosk get too long, he sometimes gives the blessing according to language groups: in Spanish, Italian, English, and—if there are several people interested—in German. "I once started a small revolution," says …More

Why Padre Pio Cherished This Child's Reflection on Mary. Padre Pio had a profound love for the Blessed Virgin Mary, and that love is reflected in the letters exchanged with those closest to him. One remarkable letter included a poem written by an eleven-year-old child, offering a simple yet deeply moving reflection on the mystery of Mary as the Mother of God and her unique place in God's plan of salvation. The beauty of the Catholic faith is often found in contemplating its greatest mysteries with humility and wonder. Mary's Immaculate Conception, her perfect union with Jesus Christ, and her loving role in leading souls to her Son continue to inspire believers to grow in faith, prayer, and trust in God's providence. youtube.com/watch?v=INJWbKFV8Cc
Irish TV personality endorses ‘women priests’ during ‘homily’ at Knock shrine
In Lungo’s case, it seems likely that some at least will take this same line in response to his apparent Freemasonry. But for the Vatican, the case is — or should be — much more acute, since it involves the wholesale moral condemnation by the Church of a legal category of persons.
