During yesterday’s Papal General Audience, the music ensemble in St. Peter's Square entertained the older generation with 1970s songs: Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond and Dancing Queen by ABBA. The latter celebrates nightlife.

Ist „Dancing Queen“ ein passender Song für eine allgemeine Papstaudienz? Was meint ihr dazu?

Friday night and the lights are low
Looking out for a place to go, mm
Where they play the right music
Getting in the swing
You come to look for a king
Anybody could be that guy
Night is young and the music's high
With a bit of rock music, everything is fine
You're in the mood for a dance
And when you get the chance
You are the dancing queen young and sweet, only 17
Dancing queen
Feel the beat from the tambourine, oh yeah
You can dance, you can jive
Having the time of your life
Ooh-ooh, ooh, see that girl, watch that scene
Digging the dancing queen
You're a tease, you turn 'em on
Leave 'em burning and then you're gone
Looking out for another, anyone will do
You're in the mood for a dance
And when you get the chance

Cardinal Parolin Speaks of Possible Canonical Penalties for German Bishops

It is premature to foresee an intervention by the Holy See regarding the German bishops on the blessings for homosexuals. Cardinal Pietro Parolin said this at the Augustinianum to present the book “Robert Francis Prevost. Free Under Grace”, as reported by VaticanNews.va on May 6.
At this moment, Cardinal Parolin said, there is “dialogue”: “Let us see what happens.”
He reiterated that the decision belongs to the Pope.
“But in any case," he continued, “we have already for some time begun a dialogue, each expressing our own views.”
Cardinal Parolin hopes that sanctions will not be necessary and that problems may be resolved peacefully, as should be the case in the Church.

Remember the good old days when the Jesuits forbade their members from becoming bishops or accepting any other kind of powerful religious or secular office to keep their innate intelligence and talent from devolving into arrogance, and resulting in their judgment about whether they existed to serve God or to improve on Him being clouded? So much of the evil that has seized the church has been initiated by Jesuits who were set free to give their conceit and arrogance free rein.

Chapter 57 ~ The words of our Lord to the bride about how he is loathsome and despicable food for the souls of Christians, and how the world, instead, is loved and found to be delightful by them, and about the terrifying judgment that is executed over such people.
The Son of God spoke to his bride: “Christians are now acting towards me as the Jews acted towards me.
The Jews drove me out of the temple and had a complete will to kill me, but since my hour had not yet come, I escaped from their hands. Christians act towards me in the same way now. They drive me out of their temple (that is, out of their soul, which should be my temple) and they would gladly want to kill me if they could. I am like rotten and stinking flesh in their mouths. French Bishop Removes Three Conservative Priests After Parish Disputes

The Diocese of Amiens, northern France, has announced that it will not renew the mission of three conservative priests from the Diocese of Fréjus-Toulon after months of “growing tensions” within the parishes.
Fathers François-Régis Favre, Éloi Legrand, and Pierre-Marie Brochery, began serving in the parishes of Albert, Bray-sur-Somme, Mailly-Maillet, and Acheux in September 2025. They will depart at the end of the current pastoral year.
In a statement released on April 27, Bishop Gérard Le Stang said the decision followed “a long period of reflection” and consultations with diocesan clergy and parishioners. He described the situation as having created a “deep and lasting disruption” within the communities.
Cassocks, Novus Ordo in Latin
The priests drew criticism from some parishioners for wearing cassocks, celebrating the Novus Ordo partly in Latin, and emphasizing moral teaching.
Complaints also emerged regarding what some described as divisive preaching.

This afternoon, 28 new recruits of the Pontifical Swiss Guard swore allegiance to the Roman Pontiff, His Holiness Pope Leo XIV. The ceremony takes place every year on May 6th, the date in 1527, when 147 Swiss Guards died defending Clement VII during the Sack of Rome.

Today a few young mates swore their loyalty to the Pope 🇻🇦 🤍
Always such a moving ceremony… even if sadly this time we couldn’t experience it outdoors 🌧️

Tried and found wanting: How Leo XIV chose heresy over the Church

Matthew McCusker
May 4, 2026
By endorsing Francis's 2018 Catechism revision on capital punishment, Leo XIV has chosen a competing rule of faith over that proposed by the ordinary and universal Catholic Magisterium.
Leo XIV has publicly rejected the teaching of the Catholic Church that capital punishment is legitimate under certain conditions.
This teaching, having been proposed for our belief by the universal and ordinary magisterium, must be believed by all Catholics. The denial of this doctrine constitutes heresy.
The implications of Leo XIV’s public profession of heresy deserve careful consideration.
Leo XIV’s position on capital punishment

On April 24, in a video address commemorating the 15th anniversary of the abolition of the death penalty in Illinois, Leo XIV said:
The Church teaches that “the death penalty is inadmissible because it is an attack on the inviolability and dignity of the person.”
The words within speech marks are from the text on capital punishment inserted into the …Àteru

Acts 15:22-31
“We have heard that some of our number [who went out] without any mandate from us have upset you with their teachings and disturbed your peace of mind.”
It is necessary to carefully discern the message we convey to others. Let us evaluate whether what we say comes from God or from evil.
John 15:12-17
Jesus said, “I have called you friends.”
Let us remain close to God and cherish the childlike joy within ourselves and in others.
