Selected quotes from the book A Wider View of the Second Vatican Council by Archimandrite Boniface Luykx. Republished in English by Angelico Press, Brooklyn, NY, 2025. Archimandrite Boniface Luykx (1915–2004) was a Belgian Premonstratensian canon regular, professor, and liturgical scholar. In the 1940s and 1950s he was among the leading figures of the Catholic liturgical movement and taught for many years at the University of Notre Dame’s Summer School of Liturgy. From 1960 to 1971 he served as a missionary in Africa, where he founded the Monastère de l’Assomption and taught at Lovanium University in Kinshasa, Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of the Congo). Beginning in 1959, he was a member of the Preparatory Commission for the Liturgy and later served as a liturgical consultant and expert (peritus) at the Second Vatican Council, as well as one of the authors of the Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy (Sacrosanctum Concilium). After the Council, he became a member of the Consilium …තව
The Archdiocese of Bombay has reportedly permitted the diocesan celebration of the Traditional Latin Mass on "an experimental basis". The Archdiocese has been led by Archbishop John Rodrigues since 25 January 2025, succeeding pro-homosexual Cardinal Oswald Gracias.
The Archdiocese of Bombay has offered a welcome development by permitting the diocesan celebration of the Traditional Latin Mass on an experimental and private basis. This decision, approved by Archbishop John Rodrigues, comes as a quiet but genuine relief for many faithful
Synod.va published on May 5 the final report of Study Group number 7 on the selection of bishops: “In the selection of a bishop, it is necessary to consider, among other qualities, his ‘synodal competencies’.” (page 3) At least, the document also mentions Catholic criteria: “Among the qualities sought in a bishop are moral integrity, doctrinal orthodoxy, pastoral sensitivity, leadership ability, and the capacity to administer the Church’s goods.” (page 3) The main idea of the report is expanding lay influence in bishop selection: “The cathedral chapter… finance council… lay council… youth and the poor should also be convened.” (page 4) The report proposes that, when a diocese is vacant, a committee be established to work with the Apostolic Nuncio, consisting of priests, consecrated religious, and laypersons. (page 5) Informants should include women, youth, academics, ecclesial movement members, the poor, marginalized persons, and representatives of Indigenous or minority communities. …තව
On 27 April, Leo XIV’s liturgical vestment designer, Filippo Sorcinelli, spoke to DailyMail.co.uk about the papal liturgical wardrobe. Sorcinelli is a homosexual who uses imagery of sadomasochism in his work as a perfumer. He works with the Vatican's liturgical office to design vestments, not directly with Leo XIV. He said that the Pope does not stage spectacles: "Each visual choice contributes to building a language of reliability, balance and quiet authority." The means of communication are fabrics, colours and shapes. "Every detail is designed to support the Pope’s role, not draw attention away from it." Leo XIV has leaned into classic papal tailoring, reinstating details such as cufflinks and structured vestments that emphasise form and precision. Sorcinelli has never perceived a conflict between his faith and his vice: "I have never viewed faith and homosexuality as adversaries, but rather as a creative tension that fuels my work." He added that his experience within the Church …තව
This explains why Leo's Papal Vestments are so horrible.....they look like rags that should be thrown in the garbage. Especially those short abhorrent German-style Mitres, which look like they're made of cardboard with cheap trim glued on.
'Regardless of the report, the Catholic Churchteachesthat homosexual activity is mortally sinful and that homosexual inclinations are “objectively disordered.” TheCatechism of the Catholic Churchstates: “Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that ‘homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered.’”
Tue May 5, 2026 - 12:08 pm EDTTue May 5, 2026 - 5:40 pm EDT (LifeSiteNews) — A report from the Vatican’s General Secretariat of the Synod published Tuesday suggests a reframing of homosexuality, endorsing testimony without qualification that “sin, at its root, does not consist in the (same-sex) couple relationship” but in “a lack of faith in a God who desires our fulfilment.” The Vatican-commissioned Study Group 9 of the Synod on Synodality published its Final Report May 5, “Theological criteria and synodal methodologies for shared discernment of emerging doctrinal, pastoral, and ethical issues.” Under the heading, “Taking a synodal approach to discernment: A proposal for implementation in local Churches,” the 32-page document relies on the testimonies of the “lived experience” of two individuals with same-sex attraction to “aid the promotion of pastoral discernment.” Framing the two testimonies as “experiences of goodness” which constitute “successive stages of development in …
On 29 April, the Canadian homosexual activist Jake Tucker, 39, was found guilty of multiple sex-trafficking and assault-related charges following a trial in Barrie, Ontario. Tucker is in a homosexual "marriage" and produced/bought a baby girl via surrogacy. In the past, he has organised homosexual events, drag nights, flag raising, and other local activist initiatives. According to prosecutors, Tucker recruited, controlled and exploited two women for several years, arranging their prostitution and taking a share of the profits. He also used coercion, violence and drugs to maintain control. The case began in 2022, when a woman reported to the police that Tucker had trafficked her for years. Investigators later identified a second alleged victim who made similar claims. After the verdict, Tucker denied the allegations and said he plans to appeal, arguing that the women were lying and that the police investigation was flawed. He is expected to return to court for sentencing and could face …තව
Rev Gerardo Saco resigned from his appointment as Bishop of the Diocese of Tagbilaran in the Philippines. Pope Leo XIV appointed Rev. Saco on 25 March 2026, with the episcopal ordination scheduled for 26 May. On 5 May, Cebu Archbishop Alberto Uy announced that Leo XIV had accepted Rev Saco’s resignation. Rev Saco suddenly discovered a “change of heart” and “human limitations and inadequacies”. However, it is more likely that there is an undisclosed issue behind this decision. Choosing Bishops with Hidden Scandals Declining after papal appointment and before ordination used to be very rare in the Church. It has increased in the past decade as a side effect of deliberately appointing compromised or unsuitable candidates. In Argentina alone, Francis appointed three priests as bishops who then resigned from the episcopal consecration weeks later. Bishop Pascalis Syukur, who was reportedly in a romantic relationship with a woman and had fathered two children, accepted Pope Francis’s …තව
Today, Synod.va published the final report from Study Group 9 on theological criteria and synodal methodologies for discerning doctrinal, pastoral, and ethical questions. It is de facto on homosexuality. The report rejects the term “controversial” and says such matters should be treated as “emerging” issues (page 6). Repeatedly, it speaks of an alleged “paradigm shift” in how the Church interprets the teaching: “The commitment to practising the synodal nature of the Church implies the implementation of a ‘paradigm shift.’” (page 8) The final report even analogizes present ecclesial disputes to the Jerusalem Council’s overturning of circumcision requirements. It demands that synodal outcomes should not be predetermined by “pre-established formulas.” And: “The Church’s mission is not a matter of abstractly proclaiming and deductively applying principles...” (page 9) The final report invents “the stability of a healthy affective relationship” in homosexual contexts as a positive …තව
For Karl Marx's birthday, here's G.A. Cohen, the funniest Marxist philosopher — and quite possibly the funniest philosopher — of all time doing his impression of a British philosopher. This is one of his lesser-known, but is also one of his funniest, bits.
